We are guided by ecological concerns, energy saving and the protection of the environment.
Our company is located in a privileged part of Catalonia, next to the Natural Park in the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone at the foot of the Pyrenees, blessed with the ideal microclimate for our activities. We not only respect Nature, we also live in harmony with it. For this reason we can claim that nature forms an active part of our processes, as it allows us to obtain the finest raw materials and, from them, produce the highest quality products. |
We have pioneered this type of high-performance energy installations. Combustion of natural gas generates electricity, steam, hot water and, by means of an absorption system, cold, in the form of frigories. |
| Replacement of the old fuel-oil boilers with natural gas |
In recent years, we have been firmly committed to clean energy, replacing the old fuel-oil boilers (fossil fuel with its high pollutant potential) with natural gas. The use of biofuels contributes notably to reducing the emissions of what are called greenhouse gases. |

| Elimination of the cold compressors that use CFC gases |
At Noel, we have replaced the old cold-compressors with new technologies for generating cold and eliminating the CFC gases that seriously harm the ozone layer.

| NOEL's own wastewater treatment plant |
We have our own wastewater treatment plant, which combines physical-chemical (filters, degreasers, compact flotation unit) and biological (active sludge) processes to treat the wastewater generated in the production processes. The plant reduces most of the pollution parameters 90%. |
One of the most important environmental problems in rural zones is the nitrification of the aquifers caused by excessive organic nitrogen in the fields from liquid manure and the sludge from the treatment station.
Noel fosters the construction of a treatment station consisting of dehydration and aerobic digestion of the sludge to reduce it to the minimum. What is more important, the organic matter has to be mineralised so that it will attach to the soil in the next agricultural application. Only in this inorganic form can the nutrients be directly assimilated by the plants that again attach them to the soil, thus locking them into the natural cycles.
